I.S.P.O. 20th World Congress 2025 in Stockholm has an eye on the next generation
Presenting own research results, learning from others and networking in an international world of science: early career researchers and students will have the chance to be part and participate to the programme at the World Congress in Sweden from 16 to 19 June 2025. ISPO offers support to the next generation.
Especially as a student or early career researcher, it is important to get the opportunity to make experiences and to get introduced to the world of science. Promoting and retaining young talent is essential for ISPO in order to strengthen and further enhance the scientific field of prosthetics and orthotics in the long-term. A well-trained next generation is important for ensuring the care of patients, counteract the shortage of skilled professionals in parts of the world and improve the quality of care. ISPO has recognised this and developed special offers for early career researchers and students for the upcoming World Congress in Sweden.
3 Minute Thesis (3MT) student competition & mentoring
The 3 Minute Thesis (3MT) student competition is an academic competition that assists current students with fostering effective presentation and communication skills. Participants have three minutes to explain their research project to an interdisciplinary audience. The competition is open to all students currently enrolled in an undergraduate, masters or PhD programme. Further information can be found in the guidelines for 3MT student competition . Applicants can submit their abstract until 11 November 2024.
ISPO wants to support the students to bring their best 3MT. Mentoring is offered to support students with writing their abstracts and / or preparing their presentations. Requests for mentoring can be sent by email to info@ispo-congress.com until 14 October 2024. Feedback will follow by the end of October.
Abstracts for free paper and poster presentations & abstract triage
Free papers are professional communications that describe qualitative, quantitative or mixed methods research, such as techniques, case studies, case series, clinical trials, systematic reviews or experiments. Top ranking free papers are selected for oral presentation.
Posters may also describe qualitative, quantitative or mixed methods research. Unlike free papers, posters may present preliminary results or work in progress.
Abstract triage is offered and is primarily aimed at authors who are new to the field of science, do not have mentors available to give critical feedback, whose native language is not English and / or whose submissions have been rejected previously. The intention of the offer of this pre-submission abstract feedback relates primarily to the formatting, composition and structure of the abstract. Before submitting formally, authors can send request for abstract triage by email to info@ispo-congress.com until 14 October 2024 to receive feedback by the end of October.
