The ISPO Scientific Committee is a standing committee that is responsible for coordinating since-related matters of ISPO, namely research, development and knowledge translation. The Scientific Committee represents an integral part to the global role of ISPO regarding its impact on informing P&O rehabilitation science and practice. In particular, we engage in ongoing efforts to strengthen ISPO’s contribution to the creation and dissemination of science in P&O; oversee the scientific activities of ISPO as directed by the Executive Board; and propose recommendations to the Executive Board on the scientific policy of ISPO.
A focus of our work is to support early-stage investigators through mentorship and foster collaboration amongst researchers, clinicians, and industry to promote advancements in P&O clinical practice and technology. Please join us for this symposium as the current members of the Scientific Committee discuss our mission, ongoing efforts, and vision for the future of the Committee. We will highlight ongoing efforts including the online ISPO Dictionary of P&O Terms, science webinars, identification of research priorities, special interest groups, the early-stage investigator mentorship program, and management of achievement awards, as well as present means by which you as an ISPO member can become involved in the Committee and support our important mission.
We will conclude the symposium with a question and answer session as your voice is needed to help ISPO be a leading voice in shaping the science of the P&O profession.
