Description

We see in different warzones today a record number of amputated children. Sweden has a tradition of receiving children who flee from war-torn countries. Through this, we in O&P industry have been able to see how many of them have been hit by the explosive mines that are used in war today. They constitute a unique group of healthy and strong patients in need of dynamic and light prosthetic solutions for lining a healthy life and be able to play and do sports.

Our newly acquired knowledge in this area can be a way to help children on the ground in war-torn countries. Partial foot prostheses with high dynamics can be produced using prefabricated orthosis.
